Find Peace

0704pri prisonerA listener called and share this:

I am listening to you via the internet in Borger, Texas in Panhandle. I used to listen to you in Diboll. I was at Diboll unit right next to TDC unit.

I did 7 years in prison for robbery and drug offense. I realize if I had been there when Christ was crucified, I qualified to be next to him.

It had a big affect when I finally came to realize.

Your station really helped me while I was there doing 10 months in Diboll unit, Made all the difference in the world. If you ever doubt what you are doing is important – DON’T!
I spent 7 years trying to get my heart and mind to live right. Made a huge difference. I have 7 kids and 16 grand kids. The life I was leading before with drugs and alcohol, they had nothing to do with me. I didn’t blame them. I stayed away because I wasn’t a good father or grandfather. I have them all in my life now. Its amazing what God can do if you just let him.

I really enjoy playlist and good friends in the morning. I listen during bible study every day. This has changed everything in my Life!

There is a song from Sidewalk Prophets that fits this story. It’s called Prodigal. A portion of the lyrics go like this:

It’s been a long time since you felt peace
In the valley you made where you’re not meant to be
Where the shame throws shadows on you
But don’t you forget

That you’re headed to more
But you’ve settled for less
Don’t buy the lie “it’s as good as it gets”
The same feet that left you lost and alone
Are the very same feet that can bring you back home

Wherever you are, whatever you did
It’s a page in your book, but it isn’t the end
Your Father will meet you with arms open wide
This is where your heart belongs
Come running like a prodigal
